Jumbo Lake - Proud Dad!

My family and I took 2 weeks off and went in search of beauty. This was one place we found it. Jumbo Lake is a small lake on Grand Mesa, Colorado. This is just north of Delta Colorado. This is a great place, over 100 lakes, a ski resort, fun year around. We camped and in the morning I was able to take my kids fishing and it was wonderful.

First cast, before the bait sunk to the bottom, I caught this Rainbow:





We had great luck, all in all we caught 11 Rainbow Trout. It was just great watching my son reel one in.



My daughter loved holding them, slime and all. I foresee a bright fishing future for my family!

I have another 3 year old but did not fish with us so no good pictures to share. Yep I've got 4 kids. We get all sorts of reactions and looks about that. We were brave though and made the drive anyway. It was totally worth it! I'll definitely be returning to the Grand Mesa as soon as I can.

awww, nothing like seeing a kid out pulling in a fish.... Thats just a big soft spot in my heart,, Get those kids hooked on fishing, and they'll fish and stay outta trouble
